CAFE TEBALDI'S RESTAURANT - (023 625 1115)
Situated in a historic building set in beautiful gardens in the grounds at Temenos Retreat in Voortrekker St, Tebaldi's Cafe & Restaurant is a wonderful summer and winter venue specialising in fresh country cuisine. The cosy dining room has a delightful ambiance with a fireplace (one smoking and the other non-smoking - both charming) and a small wine bar, and in the summer months a table in the shade of the stoep is a delight. On occasional weekends tables set in the deep shade of large trees in the beautiful grounds are open to one and all - almost heaven!
The restaurant, which has a seasonal menu, is open daily except Mondays for delicious breakfasts and lunches, as well as Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Thursday night is "Quiz Night" serving "Pub Grub", whilst on Friday and Saturday the menu is a la carte.

Deli Girls Bistro, situated at "The Stables", a charming straw bale house on the main street where you may either sit on the front stoep & watch the village go by or retire to the garden room which has a cosy earthenware Firepot for winter - serves breakfasts, light lunches, excellent homemade soup with freshbaked country bread, great coffee & cake as well as delicious old fashioned cream scones with homemade strawberry jam.
Spend a while browsing the little shop which has a selection of interesting things to eat & to take home, and the Deli stocks a variety of breads, cheeses, smoked salmon, duck breasts, free range eggs, home produce and frozen meals as well as English & Belgian chocolates, luxury beauty & bath products and nifty kitchen gadgets.
Offering a delightful experience for young and old, Eseltjiesrus Country Kitchen is situated within the McGregor Donkey Sanctuary (opposite McGregor Winery), and serves delicious home cooked meals from a selection of home cooked Lamb Shank, Spinach & Blue Cheese and Creamy Chicken Pie to Oxtail, Ragout, Coq-Au-Vin and Lamb Curry to toasted sandwiches, as well as a great Vegetable Curry (Gluten Free) There is a good selection of good old fashioned desserts, as well as cooldrinks, homemade Ginger Beer served in characterful glass bottles, milkshakes & coffee which can be enjoyed in the shade of the trees or on one of the two stoeps.

Situated at 54 Voortrekker St in McGregor, Frangipani is a charming converted old house which serves a full English Breakfast, a good selection of scones, muffins & cakes, light lunches - delicious vegetarian & gluten free meals also available - toasties, Sunday Roasts & Take Aways. Sit inside - there is a cosy fireplace for winter - or on the shady stoep and take time to browse the bric-a-brac and 2nd hand books on sale in aid of our Donkey Sanctuary & CARE for unerpriviledged animals.

Secondhand books galore can be found at Frangipani - & 100% of the proceeds are donated to either Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary or CARE which supports the care of underpriviledged animals of all species in & around McGregor (the colour of the sticker on the book you purchase will designate the beneficiary)

Green Gables Mill House - relocated from the corner of Voortrekker /Tindall Streets in the centre of the village to the top of Mill Street (entrance Smith / Mill Streets) is situated on the hill overlooking vineyards and the whitewashed cottages of the village to the mountains, and the view from the restaurant and patio is truly beautiful.
Hosted by Tiger & Jill and still offering the same excellent homecooked meals and friendly service, the position of Green Gables Mill House is the real upgrade.
Situated in the new McGregor Mall in Voortrekker St, Andre & Kurt welcome you to their charming restaurant Karoux every evening from 6pm till late (CLOSED THURSDAYS) Highly recommended for a cosy dinner, and with a fairly extensive menu - especially for McGregor! - the meals are delicious and well presented, and the little fireplace is a blessing on these cold winter nights!
About 10 minutes outside the village on the old dirt road to Robertson, the Kings River Estate Restaurant nestles amongst the vines with a backdrop of majestic mountains.
Offering an a la carte menu and an opportunity to savour their homegrown wines in an elegant and picturesque setting, the food is exceptionally good and the steaks in particular are excellent and served with crisp fresh seasonal vegetables.
