If you are looking for Shopping Malls and high-end Gift Shops, McGregor is not for you! However, McGregor offers a small range of quaint shops including a few small gift shops and grocery stores reminiscent of old country Trading Stores - and they're not difficult to find because they're all on the main street (or just off it)! Some of the small shops in McGregor do have irregular and somewhat erratic opening times, but hey, this is McGregor!
La Vie Takeaway also has a small coffee shop and is open Tuesday - Sunday, and there is a bottle store and Butchery in McGregor. Wine can also be purchased directly from the local wineries (see our dedicated Winery pages under construction)
Basic supplies - including charcoal & wood - can be purchased at CHECKIN and ONE STOP (which also houses the local Post office) and The Harvest (often humorously referred to locally as "Fruit & Veg City") has a selection of fresh locally produced vegetables, nuts & dried fruit, and the local butcher is renowned for his excellent boerewors and lamb.
Sad to say, THE AVAILABILITY OF FRESH FRUIT IS EXTREMELY LIMITED IN McGREGOR - so be sure to stop at Affie Plaas Farm Stall just before Robertson on your way in..
The little shop at Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary sells a "little bit of lots of things" and is open Thursdays - Sundays.
